The Story Behind the HearClip™Like many inventions, the HearClip™ came about through necessity and the inability to find something else like it anywhere in the marketplace. After receiving the bone-anchored hearing aid (BAHA) implant, there were several occasions where the hearing aid became detached from the abutment and fell to the ground or floor. I tried to use the elastic safety line & alligator clip that came with the hearing aid, but quickly gave up trying to string the elastic band through the holes provided in the hearing aid. Instead, I came up with what I felt was a better solution ... the HearClip™ ! It easily and directly attaches the hearing aid to my ear. The HearClip™ is a fashionable alternative to the above mentioned safety line provided with the unit. It has served as a retention device for me, and I feel it is much more visually appealing than the elastic safety line/strap. There have been several times the HearClip™ has saved my hearing aid from falling to the ground or floor. Gary Gnat, Inventor of The HearClip™ |
